Warm Southern Nights

Image
Tank and Shoes: Target, Skirt: Nordstrom's, Necklace: L. Mae Boutique I had these photos taken when I was was working in South Carolina. My neighborhood had a golf course that featured a beautiful marsh walk that became my favorite spot to walk in the evenings. From it you could not only watch the birds fly overhead, but also hear the ocean. I also loved how the walkway to the marsh was lined with huge trees draped with Spanish moss (something I really miss seeing).  One thing any southerner knows is that the hot summer weather lingers well into the official fall season. I've had this skirt since high school, and while I don't wear it too often, I love how it can be worn in spring, summer, and even early fall. Back at school, I like wearing this outfit to church with a jean jacket. The see-through lace overlay is not only timeless but makes the piece stand out. Like my last post , these photos were taken by my roommate who writes a really cool blog! Check it out if you hav...

A Dusty Rose Shirt and a Sky Blue Door

Image
Blouse: Marshall's  This summer, I finally hopped on board the off the shoulder train. This shirt is a nice blend of comfy and cute: the cut and floral embroidery dresses up an outfit, while its cotton fabric makes it nice and soft. I also love how the blouse can transition into the early fall. When it's warmer outside I tuck the shirt in high waisted shorts, and I can't wait to experiment wearing it with jeans and ankle boots when the weather cools. The day these photos were taken, my roommate and I were driving around our town looking for cute locations to serve as photo backdrops. We found this cool bright blue door next to our favorite ice cream shop. It goes to prove that you don't need a fancy location for a great backdrop- just explore your own neighborhood! My roommate also runs a fashion blog! Check it out here !
