Huntington Beach State Park Photo Diary

As I mentioned in my latest Monthly Favorites post, I recently had a day off from work and decided to go explore a new place. I had noticed signs for Huntington State Park and decided to spend the afternoon there for a visit. The 2,500 acre park has protected wildlife as well as hiking trails, campsites, and even beach access. When I drove through the entrance I was taken aback by the beautiful marsh surrounding me. After strolling along one of the paths beside the water I sat on a bench on one of the observation decks to eat my lunch and watched the egrets and herons fly by. The park is home to hundreds of species of birds and other animals- I even saw an alligator! I'm an extremely old soul, and love beautiful, peaceful settings. Combining that with my love of photography made the park one of my new favorite places. The best part of my visit was going out onto the marsh walk.
